Instructor: Mrs. Sullivan
Explore the FUN side of math!
The GMS Math Club is open for ALL students 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. In each of the meetings there will be a "Problem Solving" time and an "Exploration" time.
Problem Solving: We will work through problems provided by the
MATHCOUNTS Foundation. We will either work in small groups or as one large group. We may even have mini-competitions within the groups for small prizes. The goal is to learn to work together, and to improve problem-solving skills.
Exploration: During "Exploration" time we will conduct hands-on activities that help us to learn more about math and how math connects to all other subjects. Activities range from building geometric solids, building water rockets, math scavenger hunts, and much more.
You do not have to be a Math Genius to be in the Math Club!
You can join the Math Club even if you don't "like" math, because you might change your mind once you begin to see that math is everywhere. It's never too late to join the math club. If you are interested, please contact your math teacher or Mrs. Sullivan in room 303.
